One of the most important and far-reaching Google updates and rule changing maneuvers of all times happened recently and it's not over with yet.

What is happening and is this good news, bad news or total disaster for you and your website?

What is Google trying to do anyway?

Google's plan is to get rid of the over-optimized websites and particularly over-optimized affiliate sites with little or no real content.

Google also wants to get rid of websites that are violating their optimization rules.

Unfortunately a lot of innocent, legitimate commercial sites are getting caught in the Google filter and dropped also.

The good news is that now it could be a lot easier for you to get one of those top ten positions if you follow the new rules. The bad news is that your website may be one of the millions of sites that are dropping out of sight.

One thing is sure. Staying on top of the rankings in Google and the other search engines is a never-ending process. You have to keep up with the ever-changing rules and be ready to act fast.
