What is the best keyword density for your web site?
It's beginning to look like Google is favoring sites with lower keyword density levels. In the past, keyword density levels of 5% to as much as 20% were getting high page ranks on Google searches. Now it looks like a LOT of the top ranking sites have a keyword density of about 2% to 5%. I saw one website ranked #1 for a very popular keyword this week and the site had a keyword density of ZERO. That's right. The keyword was not used a single time on the page. I'm sure they got this #1 ranking because the sites linking to them used the keyword in their links. I wouldn't recommend making major changes to your keyword density if your page is still ranking high or near where it was before the November Florida update. But, if your site is one of the many that got "shot-out-of-the-saddle" so to speak, I would recommend lowering your keyword density if it is over 5%. And remember to count singular and plural versions as the SAME word now that Google has changed their search techniques. Jerry Minchey
