How to make your newsletters, ezines and website articles more powerful and convincing than ever.

Did all of the men in this group manage to get through Valentine's Day and stay out of the doghouse?

In the above sentence I'm talking to a group. That's not the way to do it. You want the articles on your website, newsletters and ezines to sound like you are talking directly to the reader. Sometimes that's hard to do when you're sitting in a room all by yourself writing.

Last weekend in Orlando, FL at Peter's first annual, Subscription Website Publisher Association, Seminar (http://www.SWEPA.com) I was able to meet a lot of my Search Engine University subscribers for the first time. (By the way, it was a great seminar and Peter said he would have tapes available for sale on his website soon.)

Now when I'm writing articles I can picture one of the people I met at the seminar and imagine that we are sitting down having a cup of coffee and that person has just asked me a question and I'm answering it.

Bottom Line:

Write your articles as if you were talking to one particular person instead of "preaching to a group." And by all means don't write your articles as if you were writing them for the Google search bot and placing keywords in every sentence.

One final note: ALWAYS read your articles out loud after you finish. Write this way and your readers and the search engines will be pleased.
