These three simple techniques will get you the fastest improvements in your search engine rankings, traffic and business for the least effort.

#1. Good copywriting techniques for websites require short paragraphs. Look at the articles on CNN. Most paragraphs have only one sentence -- sometimes two. Also, use bullets and lists to make information quick and easy to grasp.

#2. Google is now showing local search results. If your product or service is of interest to a local area, be sure to include your address or at least your city, state and zip code at the bottom or somewhere on EVERY page of your site. Show your state spelled out and show the two-letter abbreviation. Such as . . .

"Call us for one Flower or for a lot of Flowers if you are in Dallas Texas 75229 or anywhere in TX"

Also show your most important keywords or keyword phrases near your location information as in the above example. Notice that both the singular and plural versions of "flower" were used.

This will become even more important in the future. Remember, Google can look up the address of the searcher by using their IP address and then provide them with some local websites whether the searcher requested it or not. We may see this soon. Be ready.

#3. Longer Title Tags (But don't over do it.) will let you include more keyword phrases in your Title Tag and it will also decrease the keyword density in your Title Tag. Google used to like and reward title tags that had a high keyword density, but now they look at it as "over optimizing" and you know where that gets you.

Implement these three tips into your website and you will soon see some major improvements in your rankings and in the amount of traffic and business your website generates.
