Can this SEO tool take your website to the top of the pile?
Maybe not all the way to the #1 position, but it can quickly tell you the mistakes you've made and show you step-by-step how to fix things and rank higher. Take a look at the main tool at this website: http://whois.domaintools.com/ Type your domain name in the box as shown below:
Hit the "Search" box and you can see the data about your site as shown below:
The last read arrow shows your "SEO Score". To see how to improve on this, go to the right side of the page and scroll down to the "SEO Text Browser" area shown below and click anywhere inside the box as shown.
Then you will see the first thing you need to do to fix the problems with your website. After you see what you need to do -- go do it!
Then, "Rinse, Lather and Repeat." In other words, after you fix the first thing indicated, go back and go through the process again and see what what you need to fix next. Keep doing this until you run out of things to fix. While you're at it, why not type in each of your competitor's domain names and see how they stack up. I've checked some of my domain names and as you can see from the screen shots above, there are some things that I have overlooked and need to correct in my own websites. Bottom line: This process will help you take care of the SEO basics and if you don't have the basics right, you are banging your head against the wall. Of course, you will still need to get incoming links to get all the way to the #1 position, but having the basics right will put you way ahead of the pack.
